A little preparation goes a long way.
Practical starting points for planning and managing construction from abroad.
Before you start building
Confirm your land rights, access, site conditions and approval requirements. Have your proposed plan reviewed before committing to construction.
Prepare your construction budget
Include design, approvals, site preparation, labour, materials, finishes and external works. Allow for uncertainty and agree how changes will be quoted and approved.
Ask the right questions
Who supervises the site? What evidence will you receive? How are deliveries documented? How are milestone payments approved? What happens when a delay occurs?
Keep a clear record
Keep your signed scope, quotations, approved changes, reports and payment documentation together. Written records make decisions easier to review.
Your next chapter starts back home.
Let’s talk about your land, your plans and the home you have in mind.
